Our first episode airs this Tuesday (2/4). If you are also reading War and Peace, we have a bonus episode airing on 2/7. We will be covering Book 1 and a few chapters in Book 2.
No worries! The beauty of our podcast is that you can listen when you’re ready. No need to keep up. My motto is read at your own pace that way you can enjoy the words on the page. Enjoy!! The first couple of chapters are a wild ride.
I’m so glad you found us, too, Ariana. Have you read anything else by Condé? I watched a couple videos to prep for our first episode of Crossing the Mangrove, and I have several more novels of hers I now want to read. (Of course).
Well, welcome, Ariana! I am glad you found us. I am halfway through the book and am LOVING IT! This is my first time reading Condé. I can’t believe I was never exposed to her in college. Her writing style is hauntingly beautiful and her characters, just WOW! Have you read anything by Condé before or is this your first of her works?
So happy I stumbled on this post! I've owned Mangrove for a year so this is a sign to (belatedly) join in

Nice, I am over-committed for reading, but would definitely join if I had time. I read Condé's Segou many years ago and loved it.
Maybe next time. I am about halfway through the book and I have a hard time putting it down. She is a phenomenal storyteller.
