As of today, we’re officially halfway through War and Peace! Lately, reading feels more like a roller coaster ride than a quiet morning sipping coffee in my comfy chair, and honestly, I’m here for it!
Some days it’s exciting—Nikolai proudly declaring his love for Sonya. Other days, my stomach is in knots as the tension slowly builds. I find myself questioning Natasha’s choices, but still hurting for the young, impulsive girl she is. Then, before I know it, I’m being pulled downhill at a frightening pace—watching Anatole orchestrate the most dastardly of acts! But alas, Tolstoy brings the ride to a close for now, and I am left wondering what Pierre will do next. I must know. So what’s a girl left to do? Get back on the ride—obviously!
I don’t know about you, but I’m eager to see what happens next. I’m anxious—one hand over my face, peeking through my fingers. How will this war change the trajectory of these characters I have come to love over the last six months?
I can’t wait to see what the next three months bring! But before I get back in the line for this wild ride, here’s what you’re actually here for… the bookmarks!
This month, I created two versions of the bookmark:
One notates
’s weekly recaps and The Reader & the Writer’s monthly episodes with asterisks. The other has smaller dates and chapters, providing more room for note-taking.
Select the bookmark that works best for you.
